Saturday in Hyeres

Hello Everyone, Today, Saturday, was another beautiful day in Hyeres Port. It was sunny and warm, however the wind picks up quickly and is cold. I find myself putting on and taking off layers, depending on the breeze. We got out for a nice sail in 15 to 17 knots of breeze. It took uas some time to 'get in the groove' but we did and had a great practice. John has some issues with his seat so we quit a bit early to work on those. John and Steve wrangled Tim from the Aussie team and JP from the American team to help them fix John's seat. There are mechanical and electical pieces to the puzzle so it was nice to have some help from our friends. We had our opening ceremony this evening. My highschool french is not taking me too far so most of the speeches were lost on me. However it was fun to spend some social time with all the sailors that we've gotten to know across the world. Tommorrow the winds are predicted to be 20 knots or so. That is a bit much for our Skud fleet but we'll see. Bon Soire Mon Amies!

  1. As long as you understand "vin", "biere", "Ou sont les toilettes?", and "Il ya une freightor avance!", you should be fine. Hopefully, the weather will co-operate, you guys will stay in your groove, and have a productive training session - and lots of fun! Go Canada!
